I’m thankful today for anticipation. I’m spending the day running errands getting my family ready to hit the road for Thanksgiving. Sometimes I like preparing for things as much as experiencing the thing itself.

God,

Thanks for joy in the journey, for the fun of preparing and looking forward to the future, but that here and now has its own reward.

Thanksgiving Challenge Day 21

Just finished my monthly work out. Thankful tonight for how good it feels to get moving and do something! That should tide me through Thanksgiving week, right?

God,

Thanks for how good it feels to use the body you gave me. Thankful also for the foolish optimism that keeps me keeps me coming back to exercise even though it never quite develops into the regular habit I want it too. It’s still lots of fun.

I’m thankful today for cool, rainy days. It just feels like the holidays. The drizzling sky made every place I’ve been today feel cozy and inviting.

Thanks for days like today that conjure images of warmth and comfort. It makes me grateful for a safe, dry home.
