I’m thankful tonight for the ways God protects us that we’ll never know about this side of Heaven.  Think about it.  We blame God for all of the bad things that happen in our lives, but He gets no credit for the tragedies He has prevented.   I imagine if we could see all of the threats and near misses we’ve been spared, we would fall to the ground and immediately give thanks.  But we can’t see them, which is good, I think, because it would probably freak us out.

Thank You for Your faithful protection.  I know bad things happen to good people and there are no guarantees in this broken, messed up world, but I also know You have jumped in and saved the day more times than I could ever guess.  Thank you for your unseen intervention.
